Abstract

A latch mechanism for a sliding door having a pivotally mounted handle 23 whereby the door is controlled, the handle being connected to one or more spring loaded bolts 15, 16 movable between latching and releasing positions, the bolt or bolts 15, 16 being loaded by spring means 36, 37 towards latching position and being deflectable against a keeper, when the door is moved towards its closed position and with which the bolt or each bolt 15, 16 engages when the door is fully closed. <IMAGE>
