852,564. Endless conveyers. OWEN, F. E., MILLER, F. L., and COOLMOTA Ltd. June 19, 1959 [June 19, 1958], No. 19657/58. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XIII] A conveyer for carrying foodstuff through a drying chamber comprises a pair of spaced endless chains 17, Fig. 4, mounted on motordriven sprocket wheels 18, each of which chains carries aligned cradles 23 adapted to support the opposite ends of transverse bars 24 having spaced annular grooves 25, Fig. 7, for receiving lengths of foodstuff 26, e.g. meat filled sausage skins, draped over the bars. Each chain during part of its motion slides along runners 21 secured to a supporting framework 22 for the conveyer. The loaded bars are placed on a loading ramp 28a which is so positioned and shaped as to hold the bar in position until the next pair of aligned cradles engage its ends to carry it through the chamber from whence it is automatically removed by an inclined unloading ramp 28b.
