Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0851660/IV(b)/1> and acid addition salts thereof, where Hal represents a halogen atom, <FORM:0851660/IV(b)/2> represents a piperidino or pyrrolidino radical and Y represents a straight or branched chain alkyl group, and the preparation thereof by reacting a compound of the formula : <FORM:0851660/IV(b)/3> with a nitrile of the formula : <FORM:0851660/IV(b)/4> or by reacting a nitrile of the formula : <FORM:0851660/IV(b)/5> with Y-Mg-Hal or by reductively aminating a ketone of the formula : <FORM:0851660/IV(b)/6> with piperidine or pyrrolidine or by reacting a compound of the formula : <FORM:0851660/IV(b)/7> with a 1,4-dihalogenobutane or a 1,5-dihalogenopentane or by reacting a compound of the formula : <FORM:0851660/IV(b)/8> with piperidine or pyrrolidine in the presence of an alkali-metal catalyst and, if desired, converting the products of any of the above processes into their acid-addition salts. The products are hypertensives.
