Abstract
851,502. Sintering ores. KLOCKNERHUTTENWERK HASPE A.G. Jan. 15, 1958, No. 1434/58. Class 82(1) [Also in Group XI] In a process of roasting and sintering fine and super-fine ore an electric current is passed through the ore 3 acting as a conductor between electrodes 2, without the admixture of fuels and other materials and without the passage of a gaseous fluid, to heat the ore to 800‹C. to 1200‹C. A strip of iron swarf 4 laid from one electrode to the other may act as a conductor at the commencement of the process, the ore 3 being in a trough 1 which may be divided into three independent parts with a three-phase alternating current supply.
