Abstract

851,163. Varying wheel track of baby carriages and golf caddy cars. ALLEN, J. G. March 31, 1959 [Jan. 3, 1958], No. 247/58. Class 108(2). A cross axle 5 of the chassis of a golf caddy car or baby carriage has at each end a telescopically mounted stub axle 6 which is axially movable to a retracted position. Movement of each axle 6 is limited by the action of a resiliently mounted detent 11. The latter co-operates with a slot 9 formed in the axle 6. A cross portion 13 of the slot 9 permits the axle to be rotated when in the extended position so as to bring the detent on to the outer surface of the axle 6. The latter may then be removed from the axle 5. Locking is effected by screws 12.
