Abstract

A composition comprises as the essential polymeric ingredients thereof a mixture of a homopolymer or copolymer of vinyl chloride with up to 5% of its weight of a copolymerizable monomer such as vinyl acetate or vinylidene chloride, a homopolymer or copolymer of methyl methacrylate with a minor amount of another aliphatic monomer copolymerizable therewith, such as ethyl acrylate, and having a softening point of not less than 75 DEG C., and a rubbery polymer or copolymer of butadiene -1,3, there being in each 100 parts by weight of the mixture from 3 to 35 parts by weight of the polymer or copolymer of butadiene-1,3 and the balance of the 100 parts consisting of at least 5 parts by weight of the polymeric methyl methacrylate with an amount of vinyl chloride polymer that is not less than the weight of the polymeric methyl methacrylate. The butadiene may be copolymerized with styrene, acrylonitrile, methyl or ethyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, vinyl pyridine or a mixture of acrylonitrile and methacrylic acid. Pigments, fillers and stabilizers may be included in the composition.
