Abstract

850,802. Refrigerators. ELECTROLUX Ltd. May 8. 1957 [May 14, 1956], No. 14631/57. Class 29 A refrigerator chest cooled by absorption refrigerating apparatus 12 comprises two easily separable units, an outer shell 24 with insulation 36, and an inner liner 10 integrally connected with the refrigerating apparatus 12 which includes a secondary heat exchange system 17. The outer shell has a rear window opening, through which the lining is inserted into the shell, sealed by a window plate 38, and a top access opening around which is a wooden frame 28 grooved at 39 on three sides, the fourth side extending downwardly only as far as the groove, for the reception of a flange on the upper edge of the lining 10. Before inserting the lining into the shell the space between the lining and the refrigerating apparatus is filled with insulation preferably mineral wool. When in position the flange 11 is sealed into the groove 39 and the wooden frame covered by a plastic strip 45.
