Abstract

850,167. Cathode-ray tubes. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 14, 1957 [Jan. 14, 1956], No. 1333/56. Class 39(1). A wide angle deflecting coil system for a cathode-ray tube is formed in two parts with one group of coils 3, 4 on the tube neck and a second group 5, 6 on the tube bulb. Coils of either or both groups may be of saddle, toroidal or salient pole type. Toroidal coils may be wound or circular or rectangular yokes. According to the Provisional Specification, the coils may be wound on a core with a cylindrical part surrounding the neck and a conical or larger diameter part surrounding the bulb of the tube and constructed as described in Specification 584,811.
