Class 37 The photo sensitive surface of a photo-cell as described in the parent Specification is divided into a plurality of separate sections, each being provided with an electrode. Switching means may be provided to selectively connect one or more sections to an indicating instrument to provide multi-range facilities. The Figure shows a photo-sensitive surface having two concentric regions.2 and 3, supplied with metallic contact areas 6 and 5 respectively to which connection are made from the opposite side of the photo-sensitive layer by means of wires 8 and 9. The switching means for selecting the sections may also control the selection of shunt or series resistors associated with the indicating instrument.
