886,051. Infra-red filters. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. Aug. 1, 1958 [Aug. 1, 1957], No. 24858/58. Class 97(1). An infra-red filter, for use in for example searchlights is formed by a lens. The lens may be made of a material which substantially only allow infra-red rays to pass or the lens may be transparent and be coated with a layer of such material. To provide a diverging beam the lens may have concentric serrations on one face as shown.
