Abstract

848,710. Spinning spindle bearings. STAUFERT, H. April 25, 1958 [April 27, 1957; May 25, 1957], No. 13157/58. Class 12 (1). Bearings for a spinning or twisting spindle 1 comprise an upper roller bearing 2 and a lower footstep bearing 3, the latter being mounted in a hermetically sealed damping chamber 5 filled with damping fluid. The body 5 is supported in a cup 6 and a valve 11 is provided. In a modification, the upper bearing 2 is also provided with a damped mounting, Fig. 2, the lower footstep bearing 3 being suspended within the hollow body 5. In another modification, the bearings are supported in a common cylindrical mounting by sealing members 15, 18, Fig. 3, which form hermetically closed damping chambers 13, 14. Fig. 5 shows an embodiment in which the closing member 22 is integral with a resilient corrugated cup insert 23 supporting the footstep bearing. In a further modification, the footstep bearing 3 is mounted in tubular members 25 which are spaced by a member 26 and small helical compression springs 28. Alternatively, the inner sleeve may be cup-shaped and the springs 28 retained or omitted. The wall of the cup may be corrugated.
