Abstract

848,369. Automatic regulation. PEYRON, A. F. R. Aug. 18, 1958 [Aug. 27, 1957], No. 26432/58. Class 38 (4). An A.C. or D.C. voltage stabilizer consists of a fixed resistor 2 and a photo-element 1 which decreases its resistance when illuminated, connected as a potential divider across the supply to be stabilized. The stable voltage is obtained across the photoelement 1 which is illuminated by a lamp 3 also connected to the unstabilized supply. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), a non-illuminated photo-element is included in the fixed arm of the divider to compensate for changes in ambient temperature. In a further modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the potential divider is fed from one secondary of a transformer, and the lamp from another.
