847,333. Indicating liquid levels. WALTON, G. H. Oct. 10, 1958, No. 32446/58. Class 123(1) [Also in Group XX] A rain gauge has an audible alarm which is operated when a predetermined volume of water has fallen. The water entering an opening 3, Fig. 2, is collected in a container 5 and raises an electrically conducting float 11, Fig. 4, freely slidable on a metal rod 8. When the float 11 reaches the position 111 contact is made with an arm 10, which is adjustable along rod 7, so that the electric bell 16 is sounded. Rod 7 may be graduated.
