Abstract

845,398. Closures for collapsible tubes. SEELEN, P. J. C. Nov. 3, 1958 [Nov. 15, 1957], No. 35263/58. Class 125 (3). A closure for a collapsible tube 1 is provided by a hollow plunger element 6 movable within a nozzle 3 to align an aperture 8 in the plunger with an aperture 5 in the nozzle. The tube 1 is of flexible plastics e.g. polythene, and the nozzle 3 and element 6 of hard plastics e.g. hard polythene. A locking pin 9 on the element 6 engages with a groove 10 in the nozzle to limit movement of the element 6. Vents 13 in a part 12 of the tube aid the reciprocating movement of the element 6. The nozzle 3 is attached to the tube by welding, gluing, screwing or snap-coupling.
