Abstract
845,362. Photo-electric exposure meters. VOIGTLANDER A. G. Oct. 22, 1956 [Oct. 27, 1955], No. 32l17/56 Class 40(3). A combined photo-electric exposure meter and view-finder comprises two adjustable iris diaphragms 28 and 20 which delimit cones of light impinging respectively on the photo-cell 1 and the view-finder eyepiece 18, the diaphragms being adjustable together by a manually operated shaft 35. In operation, the cone angle is selected by rotation of a knob 15, rotation of the stop 28 also bringing into the photo-cell circuit by means of a sweeper arm 33 and contacts 32 an appropriate resistance from a bank 36 of resistances. Operation of an external button then connects a battery 37 to the photo-cell and to a potentiometer 25, the needle 23 of which is visible in the eyepiece 18. Rotation of a knob 13 adjusts a slider 40 of a potentiometer 6 to return the needle 23 to its null mark 24. The correct exposure is then readable on a disc 12. Initial adjustment of the device in accordance with film speed is effected by raising knob 13 to release a pin 14a and rotating the disc 12. A needle representing the cone angle is displayed at a window. Colour filters may be inserted at 28a.
