442,409. Photographic exposure - meters. ZEISS IKON AKT.-GES., 72, Schaudauerstrasse, Dresden, Germany. Aug. 1, 1935, No. 21878. Convention date, Aug. 1, 1934. [Class 98 (i)] In a photoelectric exposure-meter the sliding contact for varying the effective resistance in the circuit of the photo electric cell in a shutter assembly comprises a plurality of relatively movable adjusting elements for determining the exposure conditions and releasable couplings for connecting said elements. A coiled curve resistance 1 is included in the circuit of a photo-electric cell 10 and measuring instrument 11. The sliding contact 3 of the resistance is rigidly secured to the ring 2 marked with exposure times. The diaphragmadjusting lever 5 is connected to a ring 6 and a further ring 8 carries a scale marked in Scheiner degrees. Releasable couplings 4, 7, 9, connect these rotatable rings. In operation, with all couplings connected, the coupling 9 is released and the scale on the ring 8 adusted to the sensitivity of the film ; then, the coupling 7 is released and the ring 6 rotated to the position for the desired diaphragm aperture ; and finally, the coupling 4 is released and the ring 2 adjusted until the pointer of the measuring instrument is over a fixed mark.
