Abstract

Exposure meters.-Relates to photometers for estimating photographic exposures, of the kind in which a diagram nr the like, seen through an eyepiece, is adjustably illuminated by the light from the object to be photographed. The quantity of light reaching the translucent ruled screen W is controlled hy a disk Q pivoted in a tube N and having attached to it a rod or wire R secured to a ring U in the fixed tube L. The tube N carries a block T which projects through a slot L' in the tube L and engages a screw-thread S on a rotatable outer tube I so that, on rotating the tube I, the tube N is moved longitudinaly and the disk Q is rotated. Around the fixed tube L is a scale of exposure times which is visible through a slot K in the tube I. A scale F having plate-speed letters on one side and diaphragm numbers on the other is slidably mounted in guides G on the tube I and has a slot K<1> registering with the slot K. In use, the plate speed is brought against the indicator Hand then, starting with the disk Q closed, the tube I is rotated until the lines on the screen W are just visible, and the exposure is then read off against the proper diaphragm number.
