Each link 19, 20 of the double-chain conveyer is constrained by at least four wheels, the central ones 8 of which run on a horizontal track 16 mounted on a base 27 and the outer ones 7 of which bear against the under-surface of angle-irons 15, 15<1> mounted on brackets 26 secured to the base. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1 each shaft 22 connecting all the links has three wheels mounted on it, but in the construction shown in Fig. B, each shaft 22 carries two wheels 7 and a single wheel 8 is mounted on an intermediate shaft which passes through the centre of the links 20. In a modification, Fig. C, the rollers 7 are on the ends of the intermediate shafts and a single wheel 8 is carried by each shaft 22. The load is supported by horizontal elongations 24, 24<1> of the links 20. Specification 734,753 is referred to.
