Abstract

844,189. Ingot moulds. VALLAK (G.B.) Ltd. Jan. 30, 1959 [Feb. 6, 1958], No. 3839/58. Class 83 (1). Ingot-mould tops are lined with tiles, alternate tiles 1 having their longitudinal edges diverging in the downward direction so that tiles 11 having their longitudinal edges converging may be introduced between them and exert a wedging action. The tiles may be of the materials referred to in Specification 731,324, of sand incorporating exothermic material or exothermic inserts or facings, firebrick, or aerated concrete having an aggregate such as refractory grit, pumice, foamed slag, clinker, firebrick or mixtures of such materials.
