Abstract

1,197,438. Wet concrete mix. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP. 11 Oct., 1967 [11 Oct., 1966], No. 45479/66. Heading C1H. A wet mix comprises cement, fine aggregate and/or sand, and pulverized fuel ash, the weight of PFA not exceeding the weight of cement or not exceeding “ of the weight of fine aggregate and/or sand, and the weight of PFA not being greater than 10% of the total weight of the solid constituents. The fine aggregate may be crushed limestone. Concrete articles may be made by introducing the wet mix into a mould so that at least one surface of the mix is in contact with a porous or perforated member, water is removed by pressing against the member and the concrete article removed from the mould immediately for example with a vacuum lifter.
