Concrete aggregate is produced by heating crushed, graded light concrete to a temperature and for a time sufficient to decompose at least part of the hydrosilicates in the concrete and to cause surface sintering to take place. Massive bodies may be produced by binding the aggregate with either cement or polystyrene.
