Abstract
843,833. Electromagnetic relays. ERICSSON TELEPHONES Ltd. April 3, 1958 [April 8, 1957], No. 11417/57. Class 38 (5). A relay which is unaffected by vibration and high acceleration has an armature balanced about its rotational axis and coupled to the contacts by means of overlapping parts. An actuator unit comprises parts C, D, E, F, together with a coil (not shown) which is mounted in a yoke 11 on a core 10. The pole member E is mounted on the yoke 11 and has four poles 14 which overlap the poles 16 on the armature D. A spindle 13 carries the armatitre and bears in a hole 12 in the core 10 the end of which fits into a recess 15 in the armature. The armature is retained in position by a plate C secured by screws 18 in holes 19. The contact and coupler units comprise a coupler B rotatably mounted by a screw 29 on the centre boss 28 of a base 23, which has pairs of fixed contacts 24, 25 for alternative engagement by spring contacts 26 fixed to the base 23 at 27. Pins 22 on the coupler B engage the contacts 26 and pins 20 on the armature D engage in slots 21 in the coupler B, so that when D.C. is applied to the coil, poles 14, 16 are attracted and springs 26 change over from contacts 24 to contacts 25. The wire spring contacts 26 may be replaced by flat springs with projections engaging slots in a rotatable disc which replaces the cruciform member B (Complete Fig., not shown). Helical or spiral return springs may be attached to the armature D and pole member E. The complete assembly may be mounted in a sealed case.
