Abstract

843,018. Furniture joints. DREZNER, L. Jan. 8, 1959, No. 766/59. Class 52(2) In a furniture leg having two sections 14, 16 the sections are coupled together by means of inserts 26, 22 having a threaded socket 241 and threaded stud 24 respectively. Insert 22 has an exterior wall 28 of slight uniform taper and provided with longitudinal flutes or grooves 30 and the insert fits into a socket 38 in section 16, an annular shoulder 40 defining the bottom of the socket and vertical ribs 46 mating with grooves 30. The insert is wedged in the socket but is also preferably cemented. Insert 26 is fixed in section 14 in 'similar fashion. An annular ring 52 is inserted between the sections as a pressure washer and for ornamental camouflage of the joint. In a modification the insert has ribs and the socket has mating grooves.
