Abstract

A cartridge chamber is formed with longitudinal grooves 6 Fig. 4 and an annular shoulder 8 for supporting the shoulder surface of a cartridge when fully in the chamber, and is also provided with a second annular shoulder 10 Fig. 4 or with axial ribs 13 Fig. 5 which cause deformation of the cartridge case during forward movement of the latter in the cartridge chamber.
