Abstract
843,017. Mixing liquids in flow. FISONS PEST CONTROL Ltd. March 5, 1958 [March 12, 1957], No. 8094/57. Class 86 [Also in Groups XXIX and XXXII] Mixing apparatus for mixing two liquids or a liquid with a solid suspension in another liquid, comprises a mixing vessel 12, Fig. 2, having opposed inlets at its ends connected by valves 17, 18 and pipes 13, 15 with tanks 14, 16, and an outlet pipe 19, midway between the vessel ends, connected by a pump 20 and pipe 22 with a spray bar 23, the tanks 14, 16 being of the same transverse cross-sectional shapes and designed with suitable control of the valves 17, 18, so that the level in the tanks will always be substantially the same, as they empty. The mixture will have constant proportions for all outlet rates of flow. The tank 14, for an insoluble herbiscide has a recirculating system 24 and is mounted in a railway car 11 coupled to a tank car 16 or tank cars, connected in parallel by the pipe 15, the tank(s) 16 containing an aqueous solution of sodium chlorate, so that the railway track may be sprayed by the bar 23. The pump 20 is provided with a recycle system 21.
