Abstract
842,898. Electrodepositing smooth tin. GELDBACH, 1., and GELDBACH, A., [trading as SCHLOETTER, M. [Firm of]]. Jan. 1, 1957 [Jan. 16, 1956], No. 57/57. Class 41. Smooth tin is electrodeposited from an acid tin bath, e.g. chloride fluoride, fluoborate, sulphate or cresol sulphonate bath. containing a flavanol or a hydroxy or glucoside derivative thereof, e.g. hydroxy flavanols such as quercetrin, fisetin, myricetin, morin and glucosides derivatives such as quercitrin, rutin. Impure substances containing flavanol compounds such as extract of fustic may be used in place of at least part of the pure compounds. Condensation products of ethylene oxide and aliphatic alcohols having 6 or more carbon atoms, e.g. laurylalcohol may also be included in the bath.
