Abstract

1456583 Electro-plating bath additive OXY METAL INDUSTRIES CORP 28 Feb 1974 [28 Feb 1973] 9107/74 Heading C7B A plating bath additive for levelling and/or brightening a metal electro-deposit comprises (A) coumarin or a substituted coumarin, (B) an acidsoluble 1-propynoxy sulphonate and optionally (c) butyne diol. The composition may be supplied as a concentrate. Specified compounds (B) are porpargyl alcohol propane sulphonate and HC#C.CH 2 .O. (CH 2 .CH[CH 2 SO 3 Na].O.) n H, where n = 1 to 4. The plating bath may be an acid Ni bath optionally containing Co salts sufficient to deposit an alloy containing # 80% Ni.
