Abstract

857,849. Electro-plating baths. DEHYDAG DEUTSCHE HYDRIERWERKE G.m.b,H. April 14, 1959 [April 24, 1958], No. 12561/58. Class 41 Electro-plating acid baths for deposition of metal contain a wetting agent, added to prevent pore formation on the plated surface, and consisting of an acid alkyl or aralkyl phosphoric acid ester, in which the alkyl group contains at least C atoms e.g. acid phosphoric acid esters of alkyl polyglycol ethers of formula: Cn H 2n+ 1 O(CH 2 CH 2 O) m CH 2 CH 2 OPO 3 X, where n is 8 to 20, m is up to 50, and X is hydrogen, or a base. The acid mono- or diphosphoric acid esters of octyl alcohols and hexylphenol or higher homologues are also specified. Baths may contain Cu, Ni, Cr, Zn, Cd, Sn, Au, Ag, or alloys as plating metals.
