(Also in Group XXVIII] A douche comprises a pressurised container 1 for the liquid to be injected and a tubular outlet nozzle 14, the lower end of which has lateral apertures 11 adjacent to a solid head 10, which is held on a resilient seating 7 by a spring 13. This arrangement forms a valve which is normally closed but which can be opened, to allow the contents to escape, by tilting the nozzle slightly to raise part of the head 10 clear of its seating. The nozzle is surrounded by a tubular guard 19 having at its lower end, a threaded support 20 which fits a corresponding thread 15 on the nozzle and, at its upper end, a support 23 which is slidable on the nozzle 14. The outer tip 24 of the nozzle is flared outward to retain the guard on the nozzle but so as to allow a small amount of longitudinal relative movement. When the guard is screwed down tightly, the nozzle is held central, with the valve head 10 securely closed. If, however, the guard is unscrewed until the part 23 abuts against the flared end of the nozzle, its lower end is then spaced from the top cap 17 of the container and the nozzle may be tilted sideways when required, to permit the contents to be driven out.
