Abstract

842,550. Discharge tubes. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. March 20, 1959 [March 25, 1958], No. 9778/59. Class 39(1). Electrodes for a discharge device, e.g. for an electron gun, wherein a set of electrodes 1 are secured by means of an apertured lug or an apertured disc portion of each electrode being stacked on a rod 2 of high alumina content with spacing collars 4 around the rod between the electrodes and are held in location against a seating 3 at one end of the rod by means of an end collar 5 of material similar to the rod 2, the end collar and the rod being fused together while the stack is held in compression. The seating 3 may comprise a second end collar fitting over and fused to the rod.
