Abstract
841,699. Valves. TESLA, NARODNI PODNIK. March 29, 1957 [March 31, 1956], No. 10350/57. Class 135. The closure member of a vacuum pump inlet valve with a high pumping conductance consists of at least two annular plate closure members 3, 3<SP>1</SP> and a centre plate closure member 3<SP>11</SP>, which is lifted by means of a lifting mechanism, e.g. links 6 connected to nuts 7 movable along a differential screw controlled from outside the valve housing, and in turn lifts the other closureplates which are suspended from each other by means of hooks 5 and eyes 4. Seating-rings 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>11</SP>, preferably of rubber, are provided both between individual closure members and between the bottom closure member and the valve seating. The dimensions of the plates are such that the sum of the areas of the outer annular space and the inner circular space of the respective plate, and the area of the outer circular space between the circular plate and said bore, are substantially equal to each other so that the flow resistance of the individual annular plates and the circular plate are substantially equal to each other.
