Abstract

A food supplement for sheep and cattle contains dietary trace elements, e.g. in the form of the sulphates of iron (ferrous), manganese, copper, cobalt, zinc and boron, a source of calcium, e.g. calcium carbonate, sulphate and phosphate, and between 20 and 70% by weight of free sulphur. Magnesium sulphate, magnesium carbonate, potassium sulphate, potassium iodide, pine resin, licorice, anise oil and molasses may be added. A salt lick containing at least 10% of free sulphur is made by mixing the food supplement with salt.
