Abstract

840,953. Transistor amplifying circuits. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Nov. 28, 1958 [Nov. 28, 1957], No. 38475/58. Class 40(6). An amplifier has a first and second transistor each connected in a grounded emitter circuit with a capacitor connected directly between the collector of the first and the base of the second, and with a variable resistance path provided across the capacitor. In the embodiment shown, a driver stage for a push-pull amplifier has a transistor 8 in an earthed emitter circuit with its collector taken to the voltage source through a potentiometer 9. The tap of the potentiometer is connected through a variable resistor 10 to the base of a second transistor 1, and a further connection is made to the base of this transistor from the collector of transistor 8 through a capacitor 11. The standing base potential on transistor 8 is adjusted by means of a potential divider formed by the preset resistor 13 and the fixed resistor 14. Increase in temperature results in a fall in D.C. potential at the collector of the transistor 8, this fall producing a corresdonding drop in base potential of transistor 1 to compensate for the rise in collector current of this transistor.
