Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:0839610/IV (b)/1> wherein R1 represents a mono- or di-substituted phenyl radical in which the substitution is by chlorine atoms or alkyl radicals containing up to 4 carbon atoms and wherein R2 represents a saturated acyclic hydrocarbon radical containing not more than 6 carbon atoms or a phenylalkyl radical containing not more than 10 carbon atoms, and acid addition salts thereof; and the preparation thereof by condensing a compound of the general formula <FORM:0839610/IV (b)/2> or a salt or functional derivative thereof, with a compound of the general formula <FORM:0839610/IV (b)/3> using an N,N1-disubstituted-carbodiimide as a condensing agent when required; or by heating an appropriately substituted hydrazine salt of the acid II; or by introducing the appropriate substituent into a hydrazide of the acid II by treating the said acid hydrazide with a carbonyl compound and reducing the hydrazone so formed; and, if desired, converting the products into their acid addition salts. The products have anti-depressive activity.
