Abstract

838,909. Pallets for handling loads. REED CORRUGATED CASES Ltd. Sept. 8, 1958 [Sept. 6, 1957; Dec. 13, 1957], Nos. 28253/57 and 38888/57. Class 78 (4). Each foot of a pallet comprises two or more portions 2 of arcuate cross-section facing outwardly from one another. Suitable configurations are shown in Figs. 2, 4, 5 and 6. The deck 1 of the pallet is preferably of double-faced corrugated board and the portions 2 of the feet may be formed by cutting the reel centres on which rolls of paper are wound. The portions 2 may be secured together by adhesive and staples and may be secured to the deck 1 by adhesive and nails 5 (Fig. 2). The upper face of the deck 1 may be reinforced adjacent the feet by pieces of corrugated board 4. The feet may be reinforced by strips of corrugated board 6 (Fig. 8) secured by nails 7. Several feet may be mounted on strips of timber ready to be secured to a pallet deck. The feet may be strapped on to a stack of cartons to form a palletized load.
