Abstract

The pallet consists of a number of layers of cardboard which are stuck together to form a rigid platform. A number of cylindrical coiled paper studs (2) are located under the pallet base. These studs fit into holes stamped in the base and are glued into position. The top cardboard layer is unperforated so that the studs do not project upwardly through the top of the pallet. The studs may be located in suitable places so that the pallets may be stacked. The external diameter of each stud is between 100 and 200 mm and the thickness of each stud is between 5 and 15 mm depending on the load to be supported.
