838,649. Feeding fibrous materials. FLEISSNER, J. E., FLEISSNER, H., and FLEISSNER, G., [trading as FLEISSNER & SOHN MASCHINENFABRIK]. June 26, 1957 [July 4, 1956], No. 20183/57. Class 120(1) In apparatus for producing a uniform fibrous fleece on a suction drum 10 which conveys it for further treatment, material fed from a hopper 13 on to a conveyer belt 11 is picked up from the belt and elevated by a needle drum 14. Excess material is picked from the belt by a needle roller 16 and thrown back on to belt 11. The remaining material carried round by drum 14 is stripped therefrom by a second needle roller 19 and thrown down on to conveyer 11 and towards drum 10 whereon it is deposited as a uniform fleece. Drum 14 is a perforated suction drum, suction being restricted by a cover plate 22 to that portion of the drum wall which picks material from the belt.
