Abstract
838,226. Clutches. KOH-I-NOOR, PROSEC N. NISOU, NARODNI PODNIK. Oct. 24, 1956, No. 32460/56. Class 80 (2). A clutch device particularly for use in calculating and accounting machines is adapted to be automatically engaged and disengaged during each revolution, the period of engagement being adjustable. A disc IV on a driving shaft 7 carries a spindle 2 on which is rotatably mounted a coupling gear IIIa, IIIb. This gear has a full ring of teeth IIIb and an intermittent ring of teeth IIIa. The latter teeth are adapted in one position to engage internal teeth 1 of a driven member II and in another position to be clear of such teeth. The teeth IIIb are adapted to co-operate with stop-pins 3, 4 on arms V, VI adjustable about the axis of shaft 7. A spring-loaded two-armed member VII is provided for locking the gear member IIIa, IIIb in any position in which it is moved by the stop-pins 3 or 4, the arm b engaging the teeth IIIb and the arm a lying adjacent the teeth IIIb and above the periphery of disc IV. In operation, as the driving disc IV is rotated, one of the pins 3, 4 engages the arm b to release the locking of the gear IIIa, IIIb and then engages the teeth IIIb to rotate the gear to engage the teeth IIIa with the teeth 1 of the driven member II. The member II is then directly rotated by the member IV until the other pin 3 or 4 engages the locking arm b and the gear IIIa, IIIb to rotate the latter to its disengaged position with respect to the driven member II so that the drive ceases.
