Abstract
838,071. Knitting-machines. OFFICINE MONCENISIO GIA ANONIMA BAUCHIERO. June 18, 1956 [June 20, 1955], No. 18831/56. Class 74 (2). Where a tappet 15, operated by the main drive of the machine, is given a first advance in the direction of the arrow B, levers 14, 12 are pivoted as one about a shaft 13, sufficiently to bring an arm 11, pivoted on the lever 12, and a tooth 10 on the arm, into the dotted line position 11a 10a, in which the arm lies behind a drum driving pawl 3, disabling it, whilst the lever 14 lifts pattern levers 16 from the surface of the pattern drum; and when the tappet is given a second advance in extension of the first, the displacement of the levers 14, 12 is increased, to bring the arm 11 and tooth 10 into the dashline position 11b, 10b, in which the drum is racked round idly by the pawl 3 until, as the drum reaches its starting position, the tooth 10 snaps into a notch 9 in a disc 8 fixed to the drum ratchet-wheel 4, to bring the arm 11 again behind the pawl 3. The pawl 3 is pivoted to one end of a lever 2 rocked by a cam 6 rotating with the needle cylinder. When the tappet 15 is withdrawn to the inactive position, a spring 7 (which also returns the pawl 3) restores the levers 14, 12 to their starting position (full line). A spring 19 urges the arm 11 towards its normal (full line) position.
