Abstract
1432958 Knitting machines ELITEX-ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REBDITELSTVI 21 March 1973 [23 March 1972] 13522/73 Heading D1C A knitting machine has programme drum 13 with pins 15 arranged in rows parallel to its axis driven by a first ratchet and pawl mechanism 3, 4, a control chain 34 driven by a second ratchet and pawl mechanism 39, 40, first and second lugs 33, 36 on the control chain respectively disengaging these mechanisms, the second operating through an electromagnet 28, the pins 15 controlling switches 16 to pass a signal indicating the required number of revolutions of the cylinder to be completed before the drum and chain move on to a control circuit which compares this with the actual number completed at any time and when these are the same energises the electromagnet. Cam 46 rotates in time with the needle cylinder and is engaged by a follower 45 on a lever with a finger 48 which actuates a switch to feed a pulse at every revolution. In the event of a fault, a switch 19 is operated manually to out out electromagnet 28 and cause drum 13 and chain 34 to be driven until the machine has reached its starting position.
