Abstract

1,041,001. Time switches. SAIA A.G. Feb. 5, 1964 [Feb. 6, 1963], No. 4868/64. Heading H2B. A programme control device, for washing machines, for example, comprises a plurality of cams 15 arranged along a common axis with corresponding control switches assembled in axial rows in units of three (one unit only being shown in Fig. 2). The three switches of each unit comprise fixed contacts 7 and 8 co-operating with bridging contacts 9 which can be lifted against springs 12 by cam followers 11. The three switches in each unit are staggered (Fig. 3, not shown), such that their followers 11 co-operate with different adjacent cam tracks. The cams 15 are stepped by a pawl 23 acting on ratchet wheel 26 and driven by oscillation of lever 21 by a cam 20. The cam 20 is carried on the end face of two cams coaxial with cams 15 operating similar switches and driven at one revolution in two minutes by a geared synchronous motor (Fig. 1, not shown). A member 29 coupled to the plunger of a solenoid (Fig. 1, not shown), can be moved thereby to lock the lever 21 on its lifted position and prevent stepping of cams 15.
