Abstract
A paste stain-remover is made by mixing together (a) one or more solvents selected from the group consisting of aromatic, aliphatic and halogenated hydrocarbons and mono- and dihydric alcohols of 1-5 carbon atoms, (b) rectified petroleum jelly, (c) silica gel, and (d) one or more of the following fillers: talc, bentonite <PICT:0838025/III/1> and potato starch. A preferred composition consists of (1) 11% trichlorethylene, (2) 6% ethanol, (3) 42% solvent gasoline, (4) 4% methanol, (5) 11% benzene, (6) 4% propylene glycol, (7) 1% rectified petroleum jelly, (8) 8% silica gel, and (9) 13% talc, bentonite, or potato starch (all percentages subject to relative variations of \sB 5%). The ingredients are mixed, as shown, in tank 1, the individual ingredients (1)-(9) above being drawn into tank 1 from tanks I-IX respectively by means of the reduced pressure created in tank 1 by suction pump and compressor 4. The contents of tank 1 are stirred by mixer 3 coupled to pump 4; when mixing is complete the action of the pump 4 is reversed by means of cock 27, the contents of the tank 1 being discharged through 12 under increased pressure.
