Abstract

A dielectric composition comprising a polybutene having a molecular weight of between 800 and 1500, and a viscosity range of 1000 to 19,000 SS.U. at 210 DEG F. and a minor proportion, e.g. from 0.01 to 5% of a stabilizer consisting of anthraquinone, or a substituted anthraquinone such as 2-t-butyl anthraquinone, quinizarin, b -methyl-, b -ethyl- or b -chloro anthraquinone is used in electrical devices having spaced conductors such as capacitors, transformers and switchgear.
