[Class 36] An insulating composition consists of 85 to 95 parts by weight of hydrocarbon oil and 15 to 5 parts of halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon, preferably a chlorinated diphenyl such as tetrachlor diphenyl. Such a mixture is stated to increase the impulse breakdown voltage of the dielectric, and is not substantially affected by variations in temperature. Specifications 413,596 and 425,324 are referred to.
