Abstract

The liquid dielectric impregnant for electrical appliances contains an aromatic ester and is characterised by an antioxidation material and an epoxide, the antioxidant preferably being present in amounts from 0.1 to 10% by weight. Said impregnant is employed in an AC capacitor having a housing and at least one capacitor section in the housing, said section containing a pair of electrodes and a solid dielectric material between the electrodes. The section is impregnated with the liquid dielectric impregnant. As a result, a considerably more robust capacitor is achieved.
