Abstract

833,858. Transformers. SMIT & CO.'S TRANSFORMATORENFABRIEK N.V., W. May 16, 1958 [May 28, 1957], No. 15873/58. Class 38 (2). Coils 3 and 4 (Fig. 1) of a transformer or choke winding are connected in series by a thin elastic strip member 5 which is under light tension so that, if the coils are contracted owing to shrinkage of the insulation, the strip 5 will not bend and thus reduce its insulating distance from one of the coils. The strip 5, which is arranged in the cooling space 2, may be a strip of metal plate notched and slotted as shown in Fig. 2 or may be made of a number of wires secured together by welding or soldering to form a strip as shown in Fig. 3.
