Abstract

Compounds having the formula <FORM:0833655/IV (b)/1> in which x is 1 or 4, y being 3 when x is 1 and 2 when x is 4, Z is a straight or branched C1-7 alkylene radical, and R and R1 are C1-7 alkyl groups, are prepared by reacting an octadecadienoic or octadecatrienoic acid of the formula <FORM:0833655/IV (b)/2> at a sub-normal temperature with an equimolar amount of a C1-7 alkyl chloroformate in presence of an equimolar amount of an aliphatic tertiary amine having C1-7 aliphatic radicals and further reacting the resulting intermediate acylalkyl carbonate with a dialkylaminoalkyl amine of the formula H2N-Z-NRR1.
