Abstract

Organylmercaptoalkyl compounds of Formula A are made by reacting oxazoline compounds of Formula B with a thiol of the formula RSH at a temperature of 80 DEG to 220 DEG C.:- <FORM:1027752/C2/1> <FORM:1027752/C2/2> wherein R represents an aryl radical optionally substituted, e.g. by chlorine, R1 represents a C1- 20 alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or aralkyl radical optionally substituted, e.g. by chlorine, R2 represents hydrogen or an alkyl or aryl group optionally substituted, e.g. by hydroxyl groups, and R3 represents hydrogen or an alkyl group.
