Abstract
832,955. Mixing appliances: loading skips. FAURE, A. Sept. 30, 1958 [Oct 30, 1957], No. 31267/58. Class 86 A loading skip 3 for a concrete mixer 2, has a perforated upper surface or bars 8 on which the shovel or drag 10 can ride under the traction of a winch 16 acting through a cable 15; the material gathered by the shovel falls through the bars into the body of the skip. There is a flap 18 pivoted as at 19 and defining a known volume, ABC, Fig. 2. The shovel is withdrawn manually by the handle 12 and the skip loaded until the volume ABC is full. The lock, if any, of the flap 18 is then released and by continued operation of the winch 16 (the shovel 10 being arrested against the stop 9), the skip.is raised, discharging its contents into the mixer through the funnel shaped portion 7. The position of the flap 18 may be adjustable, Fig. 5 (not shown), to allow varying predetermined volumes of material to be measured.
