Abstract

875,124. Drag shovels; shoots. BENFORD, Ltd. Sept. 22, 1958 [Sept. 21, 1957], No. 29742/57. Classes 78 (1) and 78 (4). Material is transferred to a receptacle, such as the skip 10 of a concrete mixer, from a bin structure comprising open-topped side-by-side compartments having a common outlet, by means such as a drag line shovel 16 which conveys the material up the sloping floor 40 of one of the compartments and over a flexible bridging member 43 of sheet rubber or similar material which may be mounted on either the bin structure or the receptacle. The bridging member is in the position 43a when material is being passed over it and is urged up to the position 43 by means of a lifter bar 51 which is raised either manually or by means of a counterbalance weight 55 or spring (not shown).
